Range Top: 1. Bring 2-1/2 cups water to a boil in a 2-quart heavy saucepan (Add 1 tbsp tub margarine and 1 tsp salt per 1 cup uncooked rice, if desired). 2. Stir in 1 cup rice. 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until all water is absorbed. 4. Fluff lightly with a fork and serve. Makes 4 servings of rice, 3/4 cup each. Microwave: 1. Mix 3 cups of water and 1 cup of rice in a 2-1/2 quart microwave-safe dish. 2. Microwave on high 10 minutes uncovered, then microwave for 20 minutes at 50% power in 1100 watt microwave oven. 3. Let sit lot 5 minutes. 4. Fluff lightly with a fork and serve. Do not add salt at margarine to rice until after rice is cooked when using microwave directions. Makes 4 servings of rice, 3/4 cup each.
