Established in 1994 with our first vintage of Sauvignon Blanc. Our winery is an iconic part of the Marlborough landscape and lies in the shadow of the majestic Wither Hills (our namesake). State-of-the-art winery incorporates both innovation and tradition in our winemaking. Our hands-on approach and meticulous attention to detail ensures that our wines are crafted beautifully, just like the setting around us, and reflects our T rangawaewae (M ori for "place where we stand"). VINEYARDS: Fourteen unique vineyards strategically sited throughout Marlborough. We farm over 1,000 acres of estate owned vineyards and 30 grower partners, all producing exceptional Sauvignon Blanc. SUSTAINABILITY: Wither Hills winery and the surrounding vineyards are accredited with Sustainable Winegrowers NZ. Nestled amongst our estate Rarangi Vineyard is the largest freshwater complex in Marlborough. With our Rarangi Wetlands Conservation Project, we implement major weed irradiation, pest control, and plant over 5,000 native species to protect native fauna. Wither Hills holds multiple certifications including two Certified Organic vineyards (BioGrow NZ); International standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Accreditation (ISO14001); International Standard for Quality Management System (QMS) accreditation (ISO 900); MPI approved Wine Standards Management Plan (WSMP); and Toit Envirocare (Proudly Carbon Zero)
Alluring aromatics of dark wild berry fruits, toasty spice and subtle earthy undertones blend together in a concentrated hedonistic bouquet. Layers of sumptuous fruit and spice continue onto the palate with a core of juicy fruit bundled together with bright acidity and silky tannins, delivering the hallmark Wither Hills Pinot Noir style which, if patient, will reward cellaring for up to 12 years. It is a Pinot Noir to be enjoyed with an array of foods from smoked meats, seared tuna, roast duck and pork belly. Sit back, relax and savor!
