Preparation of gnocchi:
Cooking instructions:
Cook before eating. Remove from vacuum pouch. Add 1 lb gnocchi to 4 quarts of rapidly boiling, slightly salted water. Boil for 3-4 minutes or until gnocchi float to top while stirring occasionally. Drain in colander. Serve with your favorite sauce and grated cheese. Remaining uncooked gnocchi should be sealed in plastic bag and placed in freezer.
Quick and easy marinara sauce:
Prepare gnocchi as per above instructions. In medium sauce pan, heat 2 tbsp. Bellino extra virgin olive oil. Add 1/2 small onion, sliced. Saute until onion is translucent. Add 1 tsp. Bellino minced garlic, gently brown. Add 1 can cento crushed tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper and basil as desired. Bring to a boil. Immediately reduce to a slow simmer. Water may be added to desired consistency. Simmer for approximately 20 minutes. Pour over cooked gnocchi, toss until gnocchi are well covered. Serves 3.
Alla rosa sauce:
Prepare 2 lb gnocchi as per above instructions. Saute 1 tsp. Bellino minced garlic in 2 tbsp. Bellino extra virgin olive oil until soft. Add 1 can Bellino plum tomatoes, chopped, reserve juice, 1 tsp. Cento basil, 1-6 oz. can cento tomato paste, salt and pepper. Simmer about 30 minutes. If sauce is too thick, add reserved tomato juice. Add 4 oz. light cream and simmer approximately 10 minutes. Pour over cooked gnocchi, toss until gnocchi are well covered. Serves 4-6.
Store in a cool dry place. Once opened, store the product in the refrigerator for 3 days.
