Rice: Thai Jasmine Rice (Thai Hom Mali Rice). Seasoning Packet: Coconut Milk Powder [Coconut Milk, Maltodextrin, Sodium Caseinate (a Milk Derivative)], Sugar, Salt, Spices [Including Lemongrass, Ginger, Galangal (Thai Ginger)], Nondairy Creamer [Corn Syrup, Palm Oil, Sodium Caseinate (a Milk Derivative)], Maltodextrin, Green Onion, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Kaffir Lime, Disodium Inosinate and Disodium Guanylate (Flavor Enhancers).
Directions
Cooking Time: 30 minutes. Stove Top: Step 1: In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Step 2: Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in rice, seasoning and 1 tbsp of butter or margarine (optional). Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook until rice is soft and tender. Step 3: Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes to insure the rice is completely cooked. Serves about 3. Microwave Directions: In a microwave-safe container, stir together rice, seasoning, 1 tbsp butter or margarine (optional) and 2-1/4 cups of water. Cook uncovered for 9 minutes. Stir, cover and cook for an additional 6 minutes or until rice is soft and tender. Remove from microwave, stir and let stand covered for 5 minutes to insure rice is completely cooked. Serves about 3. Due to variations in saucepans, stoves and microwaves, directions and cooking times may need adjustment. Easy Main Dish Idea: For a delicious main dish, add 1 cup cooked sliced chicken, seafood or tofu and 1 cup vegetables to the rice during the last 3 minutes of cooking time. Serves about 4.
