Sugar, Enriched Bleached Flour (bleached Wheat Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Cocoa (processed With Alkali), Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Shortening (contains Soybean Oil), Corn Starch, Salt, Artificial Flavor
Directions
1. First: Preheat oven as directed below. Grease bottom of pan only. 2. Mix: Empty mix into bowl. Add 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup water and 2 eggs. Mix with a spoon until all particles are moistened (about 50 strokes). Spread batter evenly in greased pan. 3. Bake: Bake as directed below or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out clean or almost clean. Do not overbake; this causes brownie dryness. Cool before cutting. For cake-like brownies, use 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup water and three eggs. Temperature vary with type of oven. Test 5 minutes prior to baking time above. Chart: Pan size - 13 x 9, oven temp 350 degrees F, bake time 28-30 min. Pan size - 9 x 9, oven temp - 350 degrees F, bake time - 35-40 min. Pan size - 11 x 7, oven temp - 325 degrees F, bake time 40-45 min. Pan size - 8 x 8, oven temp 350 degrees F, bake time - 50-55 min. High Altitude: At altitudes over 3,500 feet, stir 3 tbsp all-purpose flour into dry brownie mix. Prepare batter using 1/3 cup water, 1/4 cup oil, and 2 eggs. Bake as directed, except bake 9-ihnch pan 40-45 min. Do not use 8-inch square pan. For cake-like brownies, stir 3 tbsp flour into dry brownie mix.
