Microwave cooking: remove can top marked 'open this end first', run a knife around the inside of the can. Turn can over onto microwaveable dish, open other end and press out. Cover with a microwaveable bowl before cooking.
Steam cooking: place can in a large saucepan containing sufficient boiling water for can to float, at least 2 1/2 points. Boil gently for 35 minutes.
Never allow saucepan to boil dry! Add more water as necessary. To open: To prevent spurting, hold cloth over can opener when removing can top marked 'open this end first'. Run a knife around the inside of the can. Turn can over onto a plate, open other end and press out.
