preparation instructions: stove top - combine rice, vermicelli and 2 tbsp of butter, margarine, or oil in a medium saucepan. Saute over medium heat until vermicelli is golden brown. Add contents of seasoning packet, 2-1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Cover reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 5 to 10 minutes, covered, before serving. Microwave - combine rice, vermicelli, and 2 tbsp of butter, margarine, or oil in a microwave-safe 2-qt bowl. Microwave uncovered, on high for 1 minute. Stir and microwave on high, for 1 to 2 minutes or until vermicelli is golden brown. soy glazed flank steak with rice medley - ingredients: 1 package (6.8 oz) beef flavor rice medley fc, 2 tsp peanut oil fc, 2 cloves garlic, minced, 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce fc, 1/3 cup brown sugar fc, 2 tbsp fresh lime juice, 2 tsp grated fresh ginger, 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seed oil fc, 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes fc, 1-1/2 lb trimmed beef flank steak, preparation instructions: place peanut oil in a small saucepan over medium heat, add garlic and cook 1 minute. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, ginger, sesame seed oil and red pepper flakes; Simmer, stirring, until syrupy, about 3 minutes. Prepare rice according to package directions. Position broiler pan or grill rack to 4 to 5 inches from heat source. Coat pan or rack with non-stick cooking spray for grilling; Preheat broiler or grill to medium-high. Broil steak about 8 to 10 minutes for medium rare, turning after 5 minutes. Adjust broiling time for doneness desired. Glaze steak with 2 tbsp soy glaze 1 minute before turning and again at end of cooking time.
