Since our first vintage of RICKSHAW Pinot Noir in 2010, we’ve fine-tuned and consistently added to our rolodex of sources for high quality grapes over the years. We are now working with several key growers in multiple coastal AVA’s throughout California to provide a consistent blend that is true to style. We source this RICKSHAW Pinot from a variety of coastal cool-climate vineyards with a large percentage coming from the Sonoma Coast. We like to take a pretty minimal approach to our winemaking and tap into some great sources and make varietally true and focused wines. We source our Sauvignon Blanc throughout Northern California, looking for parcels that deliver both great freshness and a sense of depth. The combination of these elements is a crucial factor for producing the exceptional Sauvignon Blanc for which we strive. During the season of 2021, California overall received almost no rain. The summer had mild temperatures which allowed for the fruit to hang a bit longer than usual. All of the vineyards and fruit load were managed according to how much water was available for that specific vineyard. There were a few hot spells early in the fall which quickened ripening and accelerated harvest season. This 2021 Sauvignon Blanc has a blend of fruity and floral aromatics and flavors. It opens up with beautiful aromatics of candied orange, lychee and starbright lilies. Fresh flavors of honeydew and lychee lead to a round mid-palate, then a crisp and lively finish.
