With its origins traced back to Southwest India in 2000 B.C., black pepper was once considered a luxury spice throughout Europe. The peppercorns were so valuable, they were actually accepted as legal currency! With black pepper cooked in each wrapper, we don't recommend using them as currency, but we do hope you enjoy devouring them.
