Tortellini remains one of Italy's classic pastas and has become a favorite in America and around the world. Tortellini (Tortellini: Pasta: Durum Wheat Semolina, Eggs, Filling: Milled Breadstick (Wheat Flour, Water, Salt), Edam Cheese (Pasteurized Cow Milk, Salt, Curd), Soy Bean Oil, Pecorino Cheese (Pasteurized Sheep Milk, Salt, Cord), Yeast Extract, Salt, Parmesan Cheese (Pasteurized Cow Milk, Salt, Curd), Garlic, Pepper, Nutmeg), Dehydrated Potato Cubes, Dehydrated Bell Peppers, Chicken Base (Chicken Base: Tapioca Maltodextrin, Potato Flour, Onion, Garlic, Natural Chicken Broth, Dried Chicken, Garlic, Cane Sugar, Celery, Curry, Turmeric, Black Pepper), Herbs and Spices, Dehydrated Jalapeno Peppers.
Directions
You Will Need: 1 fresh chicken breast or 6 oz. can chicken. Includes: Tortellini & potatoes, spice packet & chicken base. Directions: In a 4 quart sauce pan add 7 cups water, bite sized pieces of cooked chicken, spice and base packet. Cover and bring to a boil. Stir in main package of tortellini and potatoes. Replace lid and simmer for 30 minutes or until the tortellini is done and potatoes are soft. Cooking Variations: For a richer flavor reduce water by one cup and replace with evaporated milk. Add your favorite vegetables, summer squash, carrots, or even tomatoes. Vegetarian: Prepare without meat, discard the yellow chicken base packet. Use 15 oz. vegetable broth and reduce water by 2 cups. If desired add meat substitute. Add any of your favorite vegetables, carrots, summer squash, and/or tomatoes. Cooking Time: 35 minutes. Serving Size 1 cup. Number of Servings: 10 cups.
