Wheat Flour, Modified Starch, Onion Salt, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Monosodium Glutamate, Spices, Natural Flavorings.
Directions
Crawfish-Man's Meat & Seafood Gumbo for 20 (Note: Serving size depends on your last name, and where you grew up. Louisiana & Texas residents may cut serving size in half). 3 boxes gumbo mix, 6-8 quarts water, 10 quart pot, 1 pint oysters, 2 lbs. cooked sausage, 1 fryer (browned), 2 lbs. shrimp, 20 cups cooked rice. 1. Stir gumbo mix in about 4 qts. Cold water. Bring to boil. Add remaining water. 2. Add precooked meat and shrimp (oysters added later). Return to boil. Stir often. 3. Simmer 20 minutes. Add oysters in the last 5 minutes of cooking. Serve over cooked rice. For extra flavor, double the cajun way veggies recipe and add to step 2 above. Cooking Directions & Recipes.
Cooking Tips: Cajun Way Veggies: For extra flavor saute these veggies for 5-10 minutes in 2 tablespoons oil/margarine and add to gumbo. 1/2 cup chopped onions, 1/2 cup chopped celery, 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper, 1/4 cup chopped garlic. Real Cajun Gravy: Stir 2 tablespoons mix to 1-1/2 cups cold water and heat on low for 5 minutes. Great gravy! Gumbo too spicy? Add more meat or seafood, or use only 1/2 box of mix. Okra Gumbo: Don't use too much okra for this mix! Only add about 1 cup. Be sure to cook your okra before you add it. Check our website for okra cooking directions.
