Ingredients
Basmati Rice.
Directions
Measures: 1 cup of rice; 1.5 cups water; 1 tbs margarine, butter or oil; pinch of salt. Easy Way to Cook: Rinse measured rice 2 to 3 times to remove extra starch then drain. Place drained rice into saucepan and add measured water, oil, and salt. Place saucepan uncovered over high heat and bring to boil. Stir occasionally. Let water reduce slightly below the rice level and then lower the heat. Place a tight lid on the saucepan and simmer for 30 minutes. Cooking by Electric Rice Cooker: Place the drained rice in the cooker. Add measured water, oil and salt. Cover the cooker. Turn it on and cook for 30 minutes. The rice may require slightly more or less water to cook. If the rice is too soft or overcooked use less water. If rice is too hard or undercooked use more water in future cooking. In future cooking, use more water if rice was too hard in the first cooking and use less water if it was too soft. Store rice in cool & dry place for longer shelf. Keep refrigerated.
