Deep Fry: 1 cup Pride of the West Gluten Free Batter Mix. 3/4 cup cold water. 1-1/2 pounds prepared seafood, chicken or vegetables. Preheat vegetable oil in deep fryer to 365 degree F. Blend Gluten Free Batter Mix and water in shallow bowl. Batter will be thin, allow to sit for 15 minutes. Batter will thicken. Stir again before dipping product into batter. Dry food product thoroughly with paper towels before coating with batter. Dip food product into batter. Shake off excess batter and gently place into fryer. Cook in small batches until golden brown and desired internal temperature is reached. Frying Suggestions: Pour oil or melt shortening in large, heavy skillet, saucepan or deep-fryer. Fill no more than half-full with oil, but deep enough for food to float while frying., Pan Fry: Preheat 3 tbls vegetable oil in skillet on medium-high heat. Moisten food product with water or milk. Shake off excess moisture. Coat with dry Gluten Free Batter Mix until evenly covered. Pan fry in hot oil turning after 3-4 minutes. Cook each side until golden brown. For a thicker coating, dip food product in a milk and egg mixture before coating with dry Gluten Free Batter Mix., Oven Bake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Moisten food product with water or milk. Shake off excess moisture. Coat with dry Gluten Free Batter Mix by shaking together in plastic bag or rolling food in Gluten Free Batter Mix on plate. Arrange food in single layer on greased baking dish. Spritz with vegetable oil. Bake 10-20 minutes until desired internal temperature is reached. Frying and baking times may vary depending on thickness of product. Chicken is done at an internal temperature of 165 F. Fish is done when it flakes with a fork. Turn fish, seafood, chicken & vegetables into extraordinary recipes: Beer Batter: Use gluten free beer instead of water. Spicy: Add 2-3 dashes of Tabasco or 1-2 tbls of blackened seasoning to batter. - Find Best Match: By default, your shopper will use their best judgement to pick a replacement for your item.
- Pick Specific Replacement: You can pick a specific alternative for the shopper to purchase if your first choice is out-of-stock.
- Don't Replace: For items you'd rather not replace, choose "Don't replace" to get a refund if the item is out of stock.
