Vivonex® Pediatric formula is an elemental (100% free amino acid) diet designed for children ages 1 to 13 years. Vivonex® Pediatric formula can be used to transition from parenteral nutrition (PN) except in cases where enteral nutrition is contraindicated. Contains 100% free amino acids to benefit patients with severe Gl impairment when peptides and whole proteins are not tolerated. Vivonex® Pediatric formula may further benefit children with malabsorption who require a feeding that promotes absorption with minimal digestion. In standard dilution, Vivonex® Pediatric formula provides 0.8 kilocalories per mL or 200 kilocalories per packet, distributed as 6g (12% of total kcals) of protein as amino acids, 32g (63% of total kcals) of carbohydrate, and 5.8g (25% of total kcals) of fat. Vivonex® Pediatric formula contains CalciLock® blend†, a combination of essential nutrients to help promote healthy bone development.

Tube Feeding: Administer at room temperature. Oral Feeding: Serve chilled over ice.
Reconstitute: Mixing Instructions:
To prepare 250mL (1 packet) of full strength (0.8 kcal/mL) formula:
1. Add 1 packet to 220mL of warm water in a 500mL or larger container.
2. Cover tightly and shake for 20 seconds. Any remaining undissolved particles will dissolve after standing 5-10 minutes.
Note: For larger quantities, the container should be no more than 3/4 full after packets are added to water, and more time may be required to shake product into solution. Vivonex® Pediatric formula can also be blenderized if desired.
Storage: When mixed, Vivonex® Pediatric formula may be left at room temperature for up to 4 hours or refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Store powder at room temperature.
Warnings
This product is only appropriate for use in individuals greater than 1 year old. Powdered formulas such as Vivonex® Pediatric are not sterile and should not be fed to children who may have immune problems, unless medically directed and supervised. Not for parenteral use. Use under medical supervision.
