City of Carlisle Carr's Biscuit Manufacturers since 1831. Sweet Grains: This sweet and savory biscuit balances well with an aged gruyere or gouda. Wheat Cracker: A hearty base for indulging in a soft goat or blue cheese. Poppy & Sesame Thin: This rustic pairs flawlessly with a sweet ricotta. Table Water Original: A perfectly simple cracker that lets you truly savor creamy slices of brie or triple creme. The story of Carr's began during the British Industrial Revolution when Jonathan Dodgson Carr set up a small bakery in the city of Carlisle in 1831. Carr's Table Water in their original form first appeared in the late 19th century as a refinement of the ship's biscuit. Water instead of fat was used to blend the dry ingredients in order to keep the biscuits fresh on long voyages. Carr's Table Water are still baked today using traditional brick ovens, in the proud tradition established by Jonathan Dodgson Carr. Our Original Carr's Table Water, together with 4 other gourmet crackers, can be enjoyed in this amazing Carr's Entertainment Cracker Collection.
