Use & Care: Pre-seasoned cast iron can be on all cooking surfaces, such as: induction, ceramic, electric and gas cooktops, in your oven or on the grill. On glass or ceramic cooktops, lift cookware-never slide-to prevent scratching. Handle will get hot during use. Use pot holders or oven mitts when handling cast iron cookware. Use trivets to protect countertops from hot cookware. Do not use in the microwave. You new cast iron cookware is pre-seasoned, and with continued seasoning and proper care will ensure that it lasts a lifetime. Some foods may stick to new cookware (especially eggs). Use a little extra oil or butter until you've built up to seasoning. Seasoning cast iron cookware is the process of allowing oils to be absorbed into the material, which creates a protective, naturally rust-proof cooking surface. Without protective seasoning cast iron can rust. If you cast iron rusts don't worry it's easy to fix. Scour the rust, rinse, dry, and rub with a little vegetable oil. If problem persists, you will need to thoroughly remove all rust and follow our re-seasoning instructions. To season your cookware at any time, preheat the oven to 350F. Wash cookware with warm, soapy water, avoiding abrasive scouring pads. Rinse and dry completely. Using a paper towel, apply a thin coating of vegetable oil to the entire pan, both inside and out. Place the pan upside down in the oven, placing a rimmed baking sheet or foil underneath and allow it to heat for 1 hour. Turn off the oven and leave the pan inside to slowly cool. Your pan has now been seasoned! To clean your cast iron piece, after each use - use warm, soapy water and a gentle brush. Never put the pans in the dishwasher and never use harsh scrubbers. Dry immediately. Use a paper towel to apply a little vegetable oil.
