Freeze-Dried Vegetables, Barley, Herbs and Spices.
Directions
Ready in 40 minutes. Pantry Dist. 4 Cups (32 Oz.) vegetable, chicken or beef broth. 2 Cups water. 2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes. 1 ½ Cups cabbage (shredded) ½ Tsp salt (optional). Soup directions: Step 1: Add soup mix, vegetable broth, water, diced tomatoes, cabbage and salt. Boil for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. For chicken vegetable: Add ½ lb raw cubed chicken and use chicken broth. Cook as directed above. For beef vegetable: Brown ½ lb beef cubes in 2 tbs olive oil and drain. Using beef broth, add beef and cook as directed above. Alternative preparation and serving suggestion. Gourmet light: Use fat free beef or chicken broth. Vegetarian variations: Use vegetable broth and add fresh vegetable (yellow squash, zucchini, potatoes, etc.). Extra hearty: Add an additional ½ lb beef or chicken. Serving suggestions & ideas: Use a precut coleslaw salad mix rather than cutting up the cabbage. Serve with your favorite salad or fresh baked bread. Add some hearty noodles or alphabet pasta. Freezes well.
