USDA Organic. Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth. Small farmers big change. Family traded. Most teas - even Fair Trade - come from plantations where workers have little say, and are often trapped in a system of dependency. Together, we are building a different tea model, one that gives small farmers greater access to the market, affording them more economic power, better lives and healthier communities. This blend includes tea from the Small Farmer Tea Project (SFTP) in Kerala, India - an organic, Fair Trade tea garden managed by Tea Promoters of India (TPI). TPI is a pioneer in environmental and social reform in the tea industry. The Small Farmer Tea Project is bringing economic growth and control to its members who are predominantly marginalized small producers from tribal groups that have suffered from social and economic injustice for generations. Photo: Tea farmer from on of TPI's tea gardens in Darjeeling, India. A breakfast tea specially blended to deliver the fullest body and most malt. With just a touch of sweetness, it's perfect straight up but strong enough to handle milk and sugar. We Need You! Join our movement. With your support, over the last 30 years Equal Exchange has become one of the leading alternative traders, while small farmers have gained a meaningful seat at the table. And yet, our mission is more threatened today than it was 10 years ago. Climate change is wreaking havoc on our farmer partners. Corporate digestion of Fair Trade has both reduced the power of small farmers, and has demoralized shoppers in the US. It's a difficult path ahead but together we can move mountains. Join us as an activist consumer, or investor at: equalexchange.coop. Printed with soy ink.
