italian style meatballs in marinara sauce - ingredients: 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 cloves garlic, minced, 1 (14.5 oz) can italian style diced tomatoes, 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon sugar, 3/4 teaspoon dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, 24 buckley farms frozen italian style meatballs, salt and pepper, fresh basil leaves, grated parmesan cheese, hot cooked pasta. Directions: cook onion in oil in large saucepan over low heat 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute longer. Add diced tomatoes with liquid, tomato sauce, sugar, basil and oregano. Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat to low and simmer 15 minutes. Season sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Add meatballs, cover and simmer 25 minutes longer. Stack and roll several fresh basil leaves lengthwise, slice thinly crosswise to create a chiffonade. Sprinkle basil and parmesan cheese over meatballs and sauce. Serve over hot, cooked pasta. 4 servings.
