In a first for the Ardbeg Distillery, we've taken Ardbeg Scotch whisky from ex-Bourbon casks, then rested it awhile in ex-rum casks from the Americas, giving us - Ardbeg Drum. Fragrant pine resin, seaspray and woodsmoke dance alongside ripe banana and pineapple. Lavender, liquorice and vanilla sway into rich dark chocolate, before parading into a long smoky finish. Rumbustious Revelry: In an Islay time gone by, on the last day of the Feis Ile Festival, locals transformed everything from tractors to wheelbarrows into magnificent floats. If it had wheels, they decorated it. These vibrant mobile gardens, adorned with bright flowers and fabrics, were a sight to behold. Starting at the pier in Port Ellen, the procession rolled by the crowds at Ardbeg, before honking and tooting its way back to be judged. This was a typically Islay cavalcade of colour. It's often said that these gatherings first originated to ward off bad spirits. But this Ardbeg Day, there will . only be good spirits, as the noise of drumbeats and maracas fill the streets of Port Ellen and Ardbeg lovers gather for a spectacle they won't soon forget.
