Details
Flagship wine of Terras Gauda, O Rosal pays homage to the native varieties of Galicia. A unique blend of estate-grown Albariño, Caíño Blanco and Loureiro, each variety plays an important part in this being one of the most sought-after wines from Rias Baixas year-after-year. Albariño is known for its aromatic intensity of citrus and tropical fruit, good acidity and sound minerality on the midpalate. Caíño Blanco provides structure, density, tropical & orchard fruit aromas to the blend. Loureiro provides floral and herbaceous notes, coupled with lower acidity. All varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks with one of 4 patented yeast strains selected from the estate’s vineyards. Finished wine is then blended and aged sur lies for 3+ months, before being cold stabilized and filtered in advance of bottling. A wonderfully complex wine with notes of tropical & orchard fruit, intertwined with hints of star anise and crème fraiche. The 2022 vintage received 91 points from Wine Spectator.
