Finca Nueva is a barrel-fermented white wine, made from 100% trellised & head-pruned Viura. Grapes are grown sustainably around the village of Navarrete, about 20 mins from where Miguel Ángel’s flagship estate Finca Allende is located. Vines are, on average, 40 years-old and tightly spaced. Organic fertilizer is used and all grapes are harvested by hand. Wine is pressed in a vertical basket press and aged between 4-5 months underground in French oak barrels between 1-3 years of age with a regular stirring of the lees. Finca Nueva has a yellow golden color with green hues. It has powerful and creamy aromas of exotic fruit such as pineapple and passion fruit, with nuances of toasted custard. At once soft and powerful, the Viura is voluminous on the palate and culminates in a pleasant, slightly creamy finish. The 2018 vintage received 91 points from James Suckling.
