In northern Italy, it's as popular as pasta in the south. Traditionally, the first cooking step required stirring for 40-45 minutes in a copper kettle over a hot fire. Pre-cooked Polenta eliminates this tedious chore, while preserving Polenta's ancient Italian heritage. There may be some water separation, this is normal. Cooked Organic Yellow Corn Meal (water, Organic Yellow Corn Meal), Salt, Tartaric Acid*, Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C), Beta Carotene (vitamin A).
Directions
1. Slice 1/2 inches thick rounds and microwave, saute, fry, bake, broil, or grill to desired doneness. 2. For creamy polenta, place polenta in a heated sauce pan, adding a little broth or milk at a time. Mash and stir until polenta is creamy.
Perfect for: Polenta Fries; Polenta Bruschetta; Creamy Polenta.
