In the early days of the company, a few Rufus Kiolbassa's employee came to him with the idea of making idea of making an authentic high quality chorizo, using only the finest cuts of pork and no fillers. One of those loyal employees, Juan Rodriguez, known affectionately as Johnny Rod, worked at Kiolbassa for over 45 years. His legacy lives on through our commitment to making the best-selling premium chrorizo in San Antonio.

Directions
Safe Handling Instructions: This product was prepared from inspected and passed meat and/or poultry. Some food products contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. For your protection, follow these safe handling instructions. Keep refrigerated or frozen. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave. Keep raw meat and poultry separate from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard.
Cooking: Using a knife or scissors, carefully slice casing lengthwise and peel back. Place in non-stick skillet over medium heat, breaking chorizo up with wooden spoon. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, until product has reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees F. Cooking times and temperatures may vary.
Keep refrigerated.

- There may be a "pickup fee" (equivalent to a delivery fee for pickup orders) on your pick up order that is typically $1.99 for non-Instacart+ members. Instacart+ membership waives this like it would a delivery fee.
- Pick up orders have no service fees, regardless of non-Instacart+ or Instacart+ membership.

You can set item and delivery instructions in advance, as well as chat directly with your shopper while they shop and deliver your items. You can tell the shopper to:
- Find Best Match: By default, your shopper will use their best judgement to pick a replacement for your item.
- Pick Specific Replacement: You can pick a specific alternative for the shopper to purchase if your first choice is out-of-stock.
- Don't Replace: For items you'd rather not replace, choose "Don't replace" to get a refund if the item is out of stock.
