Easy serving suggestions:
In tacos: cook sliced sausage with red and green bell pepper strips and sliced onion. Serve in tortillas with salsa, shredded cheese and sour cream.
In rice: cook sliced sausage with chopped green bell pepper and onion. Stir in cooked rice, black beans, corn, chopped mango, chopped cilantro and lime juice; heat through.
In nachos: top tortilla chips with chopped sausage, black beans, chopped tomato, green onion and cheese. Bake until cheese is melted. Serve with sour cream.
In eggs: cook chopped sausage with egg, chopped onion and jalapeno pepper. Sprinkle with cheese and serve with sour cream. Serve in tortillas, if desired.
Preparation:
Due to differences in equipment, heating times may require adjustment. Grill: grill links over med-low heat for 8-10 minutes, or until hot turning frequently.
Stove top: bring 2/3 cup water to boil in a large skillet. Add links; cover and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes or until hot, turning once.
Microwave: directions were developed using an 1100 watt microwave oven. Ovens vary, heat times may need to be adjusted.
Wrap sausage link in moistened paper towel and place on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 45-50 seconds or until hot. Let stand in microwave 1 minute, before serving.
For children under 5 years: cut lengthwise, then slice into bite size pieces. Once opened; use within 7 days.
