One of the best known and most representative vineyards, Brunate is considered an important reference point for the entire appellation. An inter-commune vineyard, the vineyard block is rather large compared to other sub-zones in the DOCG Barolo (28 total hectares, of which the Ceretto family owns 5.6) and spans between the towns of Barolo and La Morra. Fermented with native yeast in stainless steel tanks, followed by 20-25 days of maceration, the wine goes through malolactic fermentation in 300L French wood barrels immediately following the harvest. The finished wine is aged for two-three years in large 20-50HL oak casks and an additional year in bottle before release. The Ceretto Barolo has expressive floral notes and subtle smokiness on the nose, with round and slightly sweet tannins on palate. The 2019 vintage received 96 points from Wine & Spirits and 95 points from Vinous. One 750mL wine bottle of Ceretto Barolo Brunate Red Wine, 14.5% ABV
