Directions
First Time Use Instructions: 1. With the assembled unit securely in the ground, gently lift and remove the metal lid and wick assembly from the glass lamp. 2. Using a funnel, fill the glass lamp 3/4 full with standard paraffin or citronella lamp oil. 3. Reattach the metal lid and wick assembly atop the glass lamp. 4. Allow 10-15 minutes for the lamp oil to be fully absorbed by the fiberglass wick prior to lighting. 5. Using a long-stemmed barbecue lighter, ignite the wick. 6. To extinguish the flame, place snuffer cap attached to the metal lid over the wick. Note: Use tongs or pliers, if necessary, to prevent accidental contact with the hot surface. 7. Refill the glass lamp with paraffin oil as needed, making sure the product is cooled and safe to touch. Notes: 1. For best results, use only certified safe paraffin lamp oil. 2. Adjust the height of the fiberglass wick commensurate with the prevailing wind speed. Note: Lengthen the wick in stronger winds to approximately 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch and keep between 1/4 - 1/2 inch in light winds to operate properly and keep from blowing out. 3. Keep the wick covered using the snuffer cap when not in use. 4. Trim the wick from the top, as necessary, to keep it clean and performing optimally. 5. Replace the wick when it appears to be clogged with residue or has difficulty lighting or remaining lit. 6. If the wick fails to light, call us at (800) 592-9678 for a replacement or visit us online at www.echovalley.com. 7. Although designed for outdoor use, do not expose product to extreme temperatures. 8. In the winter, it is advisable to bring the product indoors.
Assembly Instrcutions: 1. With the base or bottom section of the ground stake in one hand, screw the first straight section on it and add additional sections as desired. 2. Place the metal lid and wick assembly on the glass lamp. 3. Screw and affix the lamp on to the ground stake. Caution! Do not over-tighten or cross-thread the individual stake sections or lamp. 4. Applying downward force on the boot-step located at the base of the ground stake, insert the unit into the ground in the desired location. Note: Water the area first if the ground is hard.
