We added fresh eggs, freshly chopped onions, we did not add substitutes, powders or artificial flavors, an absolute no-no for grandma. Now it's your turn. Keep the Gefilte Fish loaf in your freezer until you're ready to serve it. All you have to do is add your favorite seasoning with a healthy dash of love & cook to perfection. One last thing; while cooking, the aroma wafting through your kitchen, will have your dash of love & cook senses flash back to Grandma's house. She would be very proud! Available Kosher for Passover in these flavors: sweet, less sugar, sugar free, salmon, pike & white. For all year round we also have carb free & sugar free sweetened with Splenda. Fresh Whitefish, Fresh Mullet/sucker, Egg Whites, Canola Oil, Fresh Onions, Matzah Meal, Water, Salt, Pepper
Directions
Keep frozen. Homestyle Gefilte Fish: Do not defrost. Prepare in 8 quart pot, 2 carrots peeled and cut in half, 2 onions peeled and quartered 2 quarts water, 1-2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper, 1-2 tbs. sugar (optional). Bring to a boil, add frozen fish loaf with inner wrapping (remove plastic) and return to boil. Reduce heat to simmer, cook for 90 minutes covered. Refrigerate. Remove paper, slice and serve with carrot slices. Variation: In refrigerator, defrost gefilte fish for several hours or overnight. Prepare vegetables and seasoning in pot following above directions. With we hands form 12 balls and drop into boiling seasoned water. Reduce to simmer and cook for 90 minutes. Serve cold, with carrot slice atop each fish ball.
