Created in 1970 by the Count Giuseppe Tasca d’Almerita to be the ‘finest expression of quality and longevity,’ the Rosso del Conte is a single-vineyard wine. An assemblage of Sicily’s two most ancient red varietals: 53% Nero d’Avola and 47% Perricone, Rosso del Conte is aged for 18+ months in new French oak barrique and is crafted to be aged for many years to come. The expressive aromas carry you away to the typical features of the “blessed hills of Regaleali”, rich in Mediterranean scrub and floral aromas, notes of leather, hay, coffee and red fruit. The palate has an elegant entry with young tannins, supported by a crisp freshness - a guarantee of a long evolution in the bottle.
