Single vineyard selection. 100% cabernet sauvignon. Alexander School Reserve wines focus on some of the best and most unique lots of grapes that we harvest each year. Winemaker Kevin hall showcases distinctive varietals, winemaking techniques and exceptional vineyard sites for this limited production series. This single vineyard selection celebrates Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that AVV founder Hank Wetzel first produced in 1975. The small hillside vineyard produces some of the region's most highly regarded Cabernet Sauvignon. The low yielding vines produce tiny grapes with concentrated, rich flavors. The 2015 is a rich wine with eticing aromas of cassis, cherry, plum, and vanilla. There are concentrated flavors of dark fruits and chocolate with great texture, silky tannins and a long finish. The Wetzel Family Estate, located on the property settled in the 1840s by Alexander Valley namesake Cyrus Alexander, showcases the history, tradition and excellence of the region. Aged for 26 months in French Oak barrels - 1100 cases. avvwine.com. Alc. 14.4% by vol. Produced and bottled by Alexander Valley Vineyards Healdsburg Sonoma County, CA.
