Storage: Always store the bag in a cool, clean and dry place. Once pack is opened, rice should be kept in an airtight container. Cooking Instructions: 1 cup of Ziyad brand Extra Long Premium Indian Basmati Rice. 2 cups of water, 1 tbsp ghee/oil and pinch of a salt. Soak rice for 15-30 minutes. This will make rice absorb moisture and the grain will not break easily. That makes fluffy rice with each grain separated. A. Stove Top Instruction: Use a heavy bottomed deep pan or pot which has a good lid. This will ensure that the rice will cook evenly. 1. In a medium sized heavy bottomed pan, add water, the washed and soaked rice, salt. 2. Bring to boil. Put a lid in such a way that a little steam can escape easily and reduce flame to lowest. 3. Let cook for 15 minutes. 4. Switch the stove off. Close the lid properly and let the pot sit without opening. the lid for 15-20 minutes. The rice will be completely cooked by then. Lightly fluff it with a fork and serve hot with any curry or dal. B. Rice Cooker Instruction: Using a rice cooker is a simple and effective way to cook rice. Many rice cookers keep the rice warm after it's cooked. 1. Rinse measured rice 1 to 2 times to remove extra starch and drain. 2. Place the drained rice in the cooker. 3. Add measured water, oil and salt. 4. Cover the cooker, turn it on and cook for 30 minutes. Do not remove cover while cooking, steam cooks rice. 5. Lightly fluff it with a fork and serve hot. C. Microwave Instruction: You can save time and effort by cooking it in the microwave. Follow our four-step technique for easy microwave cooking. 1. Rinse measured rice 1 to 2 times to remove extra starch and drain. 2. Place measured rice, oil and salt in microwave safe casserole, add 2 cups of water for each cup of rice and cover. 3. Microwave on high for 10 minutes, then stir. Cover again and microwave on defrost for 10 minutes. 4. Lightly fluff it with a fork and serve hot.
