When switching to Companion® wholesome formula chicken & brown rice recipe indoor cat food from another cat food, it's a good idea to allow 7 to 10 days for the transition. Mix increasing amounts of Companion® wholesome formula chicken & brown rice recipe indoor cat food with decreasing amounts of your cat's previous food until you are feeding only the new cat food.
Weaning: Kittens generally start eating dry food at 3 to 4 weeks of age. Keep original cat formula moistened at all times. After weaning, kittens will eat dry or moistened food readily.
Reproduction: Food consumption may vary throughout gestation and lactation. During gestation, feed the amount to maintain the weight of the pregnant female. During lactation, feed 2 to 4 times normal intake.
We recommend feeding your adult cat within the guidelines listed below:
Weight of cat, pounds - 3-6. Amount, cups - 1/4-2/3.
Weight of cat, pounds - 6-9. Amount, cups - 2/3-1.
Weight of cat, pounds - 9-12. Amount, cups - 1-1 1/3.
Weight of cat, pounds - Over 12**. Amount, cups - 1 1/3.
*Using a standard 8 oz. measuring cup.
**Add 1/3 cup for each additional 3 lbs over 12 lbs.
