Preferred Method Rice Range Top Directions: What You Need: 1 tablespoon butter or margarine. 2 cups water. (1) In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter or margarine, rice-bean mix, and Special Seasonings to a boil; reduce heat to low. (2) Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Rice will be saucy. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. For spicier red beans & rice; sprinkle with dash of pepper sauce. About 2 cups prepared. Enjoy! Microwave Directions: In 2-quart microwaveable bowl, combine rice-bean mix, special seasonings, 2-1/3 cups water, and 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine. Cover; microwave at high 22-25 minutes or until rice is tender. Rice will be saucy. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Microwave ovens vary; adjust times as needed. Less Fat Directions: Follow range top or microwave directions, except omit butter. Fat reduced to 1g from 5g per serving. Saturated fat reduced to 0.5g from 1g per serving.
