Directions
Shawarma Pita with Garlic Sauce: Prep Time: 5 minutes. Makes 6 (1/2 pita) servings. Cook Time: 10 minutes. You Will Need: 1 pkg. McCormick Seasoning & Sauce Mix. 1 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream. 2 tbsp. oil. 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch strips. 2 tbsp. water. 3 (8-inch) pita breads, halved. Assorted Toppings: sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, red onion, shredded lettuce and pickles. Directions: 1. Cut open pouch 1 for Garlic Sauce Mix. Pour contents into bowl. Add yogurt and stir until well blended. Cover. Refrigerate until ready to serve. 2. Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add chicken; cook and stir 3 minutes or until no longer pink. Cut open pouch 2 for Shawarma Seasoning Mix. Stir into skillet with chicken. Add water. Reduce heat to low. 3. Cook 1 to 2 minutes until chicken is evenly coated and cooked through, stirring frequently. Serve in pitas with Garlic Sauce and desired toppings. Kitchen Tips: Try using steak, pork or ground meat in place of the chicken breast. For a thinner Garlic sauce, add an additional 1 to 2 tablespoons water in Step 1, until desired consistency is reached.
