Sort & Rinse: Dry beans, peas and lentils are natural agricultural food products. Despite the use of modern cleaning equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign material. Sort, remove foreign unwanted materials, then rinse under running water to wash away any dirt or dust. Soaking: Soak rinsed beans (and Chickpeas/Garbanzo beans) in water for at least 8 hours or overnight by adding beans in a pot; covering them with water by about two inches. For quick soak method, add rinsed beans in a pot and cover with water by two inches. Bring to a boil. Turn off heat and let the beans soak for an hour. Drain and rinse the beans with fresh cold water before cooking. Basic Cooking Instructions: Stove Top: Bring 4 cups of water and 1 cup of soaked beans or chickpeas to boil in a saucepan. Add 1 tsp. salt. Cover and cook on medium to low heat for 60-90 minutes or until desired tenderness. Add more liquid, as necessary. Drain and serve, or add to recipe. 1 cup dry beans or chickpeas yield 2-1/2 cups cooked beans or chickpeas.
Store in a cool, dry place.

- Pick up orders have no service fees, regardless of non-Instacart+ or Instacart+ membership.

You can set item and delivery instructions in advance, as well as chat directly with your shopper while they shop and deliver your items. You can tell the shopper to:
- Find Best Match: By default, your shopper will use their best judgement to pick a replacement for your item.
- Pick Specific Replacement: You can pick a specific alternative for the shopper to purchase if your first choice is out-of-stock.
- Don't Replace: For items you'd rather not replace, choose "Don't replace" to get a refund if the item is out of stock.
