To preserve its rich flavors and aromas, store your Gold rum in a pantry away from sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed after each use, and never store your rum with a pour spout. A pour spout allows your rum to evaporate and exposes it to oxidation. Both evaporation and oxidation will change the flavors in your rum over time. If you have a large bottle of rum with a lot of air space, it might be a good idea to move the rum to a tightly sealed smaller bottle.
