Baby Toys Delivery or Pickup

During the first three months of life, babies won't play with toys as older children do. However, you can place items with bold black-and-white patterns around your baby to offer a more stimulating environment. During the first three months, babies can see about 8-11 inches away. Black and white items stimulate optic nerve development and encourage cognitive development at this early age.

Between 4-6 months old, children will exhibit rapid development with how they interact with toys. Your child will become more curious about the world. Consider reading board books that have textured pages or built-in puppets.

Offer creative toys such as differently shaped blocks that fit into matching holes. Your baby will enjoy manipulating them first and gradually learn how to match the shapes as spatial reasoning develops. A shaker, rattle, or baby xylophone lets your baby explore the different ways to manipulate sound with the body. 

Your baby can tackle new challenges between 7-9 months old. This period is a good time for toys that stack by size. As your child gets better at manipulating objects, you might offer toys with buttons, switches, knobs, and latches. Toy cars are fun now, too, although it's important to choose toys with large wheels that your child can't swallow.

From 10-12 months of age, children will begin to interact more mindfully. You might try using puppets to act out stories. Simple puzzles can enter your toy collection around this time as well. A walker, push-toy, or standing table is a great choice for this developmental stage to encourage your child to explore the world from a standing position.
